Brightspace Tutorials

Solution

Articulate Rise was the perfect tool for me to quickly create and disseminate mini tutorials addressing a host of common issues faculty were encountering as they learned to navigate Brightspace.

Instructors were struggling with the grade book functionality in Brightspace; it appears the same as Blackboard, but functions in a fundamentally different way, which was causing a flood of errors and grief a few weeks into the first term using Brightspace.

Brightspace Gradebook

Solution

Part of the toolkit of help my department provided was this explanatory tutorial I made using a slide deck I had made for live Zoom help sessions. Faculty appreciated the video as an accessible tool to help explain how it works and what all those settings mean.

The client was having difficulty picturing what the elements we discussed and contributed to as a team could look like together and how we would transition from one element to another.

I took the concepts discussed with the client team, known elements, and the style guidelines, and I pitched visuals made in Camtasia, which promoted the process well beyond discussion and storyboard.

The Legal Department was looking to find a solution to track training requirements for SOC 2 compliance. Also, gradually remove HR from process, starting with annual document acknowledgement for all 700+ employees.

Using LMS to Track Legal Docs

Solution

I demonstrated the ease and accuracy of generating reports within Adobe Learning Manager that were accepted by Legal. I made simple acknowledgment forms in Captivate and created courses in ALM to support the reporting requirements.
